Conduct with other Attendees

Not only do we build friendships and business relationships, but we also host festivals, game nights, dog walk buddy events, and more.

Conduct with other members, therefore, is not confined to in-person conduct at actual HCA events, but with any interaction with another member in-person or on social media.

  • We avoid discriminatory or bigotted language, even in jest.
  • Everyone comes from a different place, and we treat that with respect.
  • We never mock, belittle, or berate another attendees for any reason. When we communicate information that may be difficult to hear, we are sensitive to the other person’s emotional state.
  • We treat people as equals regardless of age, background, religion or how they identify in terms of gender, race, etc.
  • If someone is struggling to find the words they are trying to say, we give them room to find them.
  • Toxic behaviors will not be tolerated in any capacity.
Respect the players and rules

This particularly applies to our Mahjong meetups. Please listen to and abide by the rules and expectations set by our event organisers and your fellow players. After a learning session all players are required to play with minimal guidance and without disrupting play for the other attendees. Everyone sacrifices their time to play this game together and pays an entrance fee therefore it is vital that attendees are able to keep up with their fellow players. Persistent interruptions in play or not listening to rulesets may result in you being dis-invited and/or barred from future events.

Hygiene

We promote and organize all sorts of local events. Which means that sometimes we are in close quarters with each other for 2-3 hours at a time.  All event attendees are asked to maintain a standard of personal hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness when attending HCA events. This extends to scents and noxious body perfume odours for reasons of allergies and sensitivities.
